Winner of the Award 2007 and Siae Award 2010, much in demand in that indicator of talents that is David Byrne‘s web-radio, the singer and piano/keyboard-player Petrina is one of the revelations of the independent Italian music scene.

In her debut album, in doma (2009) – that features guests such as Elliott Sharp and Ascanio Celestini – she has synthesized in a visionary style her oblique and sensual songwriting and the experimentations of avant-garde jazz.

But it is in live shows that her talent, impossible to define in a few words, expresses her best, curiously and mischievously contemporary, between toy instruments and electronics, dream and reality.

A successful pianist of contemporary repertoire (she has recorded premieres of pieces by Morton Feldman for an independent American label - Early and Unknown Piano Pieces, OgreOgress, and taken part in A Call for Silence, a CD edited by Nicolas Collins for Sonic Arts Network - UK), an original dancer, and an eccentric songwriter, Petrina has triggered the enthusiasm of the specialized press (Blow Up, AllAboutJazz, Il Mucchio, Jam, Rockerilla, Rumore etc) and of radio programs in Italy (RaiRadio1, RaiRadio3, Radio Popolare, Radio Capodistria, Radio Città Futura).

She has played in prestigious, international venues, from The Stone, John Zorn's club in New York City, to La Fenice Theater in Venice, from Mills College (Oakland) to the Institùto Cubano de la Musica in La Havana, from Conway Hall in London to Café du Nord in San Francisco.

She has also been invited to play at RSI (Italian Swiss Radio), and at the National Hungarian Radio.

She is currently editing a project with Jherek Bischoff, composer and arranger for David Byrne.
